AI product design for Fieldforce

An AI assistant that actually knows the job.

Fieldforce asked us to design Athena, an AI assistant built into their platform. It answers real operational questions, checks safety gear from a photo, and forecasts what needs attention next.

The challenge

Operational data that only helps if someone stops to look for it.

Fieldforce’s platform already tracked tasks, work orders, assets, and technician performance. Getting an answer out of it still meant opening the right dashboard and knowing where to look.

Field engineers had a second problem: proving they were wearing the right safety gear before starting a job, without someone manually checking every time.

01

Buried answers

A simple question like “what’s pending” meant digging through screens built for browsing, not asking.

02

Manual safety checks

Confirming a technician’s safety gear before a job relied on someone remembering to check, every time.

03

Data nobody had time to read

Forecasting which assets needed attention meant pulling reports few people had time to interpret.

What we designed

One assistant, three ways to ask.

Athena works as a conversation, a photo, or a forecast, whichever fits the moment.

The same assistant sits behind all three: one visual language, one voice, and one place it lives inside the Fieldforce platform. Nothing about asking Athena a question should feel like leaving the product to use a different tool.

01 · Conversational assistant

Ask Athena, get a straight answer.

Pending tasks, work orders, active projects, top-performing technicians: Athena answers in plain language, with the specific records linked right in the response.

02 · Vision safety checks

A photo is the safety check.

A field engineer sends a photo before starting a job. Athena Vision reads it against a safety checklist, glasses, gloves, helmet, shoes, safety suit, vest, and flags what’s missing in seconds.

03 · Predictive insight

Ask a hard question, get a straight forecast.

Athena Insight takes a natural-language question about asset risk or regional trends and returns a structured answer, table included, instead of a raw export.

The result

One assistant, built into how the team already works.

Athena sits inside the same platform Fieldforce’s teams already use, so asking it a question doesn’t mean leaving the workflow to go find an answer.

The same design system carries through: from the core Fieldforce product, into the conversation, the safety check, and the forecast.

One place to ask

Tasks, work orders, technician performance, and safety status are all reachable from a single conversation.

Safety checks in seconds

A photo replaces a manual walk-through: PPE status comes back as a clear present-or-missing checklist.

Forecasts in plain language

A natural-language question about asset risk returns a structured, readable answer, not a raw export.
